Macs and Lawyers: MILOFest 2009 Kicks Off

There’s no reason why a law firm can’t be fully operational and productive on Macs.  Today and tomorrow, a group of folks from all over the country gather in Orlando to discuss this topic in detail.  Welcome to MILOFest!

Last night we kicked things off with a dinner at Bongo’s in Downtown Disney.  One of the best things about social media is building relationships with people before you actually ever see them in live “meet space” (as Mark Merenda calls it).

Last night at Bongos, I met a couple of people I’ve known only virtually, that is, friends through the Internet for two years.  I finally met Grant Griffiths and Victor Medina, top MILO folk, in their earthly material forms.  It was also nice to see Julie Kiernan and David Satterfield, two active players on the MILO listserv and folks I’ve spoken with in the past. I met some Rocket Matter customers, and it was great to put a face to a name.

Looking forward to may more introductions today, Day 1 of the conference.  I’ll be speaking today on the subject of “Running an Efficient and Error-Free Law Office”, for 1.0 Florida CLE Credit.  We’re also exhibiting, giving away a Magic Mouse, some cool Rocket Matter Limited Edition T-Shirts, and of course, an embroidered Rocket Snuggie.

Thanks Larry for the embroidered Rocket Snuggie! Perhaps I will wear it to Day 2 at the MILO Fest tomorrow?!
