About the role

You are a highly motivated professional driven to succeed and wishing to advance your career in Sales. Your role is a critical component to the continued successful growth of Rocket Matter. Learning the legal technology industry in-and-out and closing new business with ideal partners through qualification and a consultative sales process is the primary objective.

Your primary responsibility is to conduct initial analysis and closing sales appointments with new business prospects. The leads will come from a variety of marketing sources, as well as a business development team, that are focused solely on lead generation. You will work with the prospect to answer questions and concerns effectively, gain additional trust and interest, and foster an excellent ongoing professional relationship.

A key requirement is to conduct business dealings in a way that creates a superior customer experience and instills confidence in our brand. The goal is to close new business using a very professional, consultative approach that is focused on the client and their practice. A typical workday is comprised of conducting initial analysis meetings, closing appointments, trial set-ups and extensive follow up. In addition, the role may require in person visits for local prospects and at networking or business development events. This job is perfect for someone with a minimum of 2 to 4 years experience looking for an exciting opportunity for career advancement with a growing software company. You must have excellent verbal and writing skills (you will be talking with attorneys all day), be tech savvy and be able to accurately communicate with law firms about the benefits and motivation behind choosing to come onboard with Rocket Matter. Familiarity with SaaS technology and software sales experience is a plus.


  • Conduct in-depth meetings with prospective clients in person or via GoToMeeting
  • Meet/exceed monthly goals as established by the management team
  • Engage with customers via telephone and email to analyze their needs, address concerns and follow up professionally
  • Profile the account and overcome prospect objections to generate quality new business accounts
  • Collaborate with marketing research team and sales on lead quality and conversion
  • Become a trusted resource for internal and external contacts
  • Arrange and support trial accounts for prospective clients


  • Very proficient writing, reading and verbal skills (grammar, business writing skills)
  • Four-year degree (BA/BS) or equivalent REQUIRED
  • Strong interpersonal skills (friendly, outgoing personality, not afraid to talk to strangers)
  • Excellent time management skills
  • Quick learner who is self motivated with a strong sense of urgency
  • Experience with a plus
  • Able to work independently in an entrepreneurial environment and adaptive to change
  • 5+ years business experience, in sales w/ technical or marketing sector a huge plus
  • Ability to understand and successfully promote technical offerings and solution sets
  • Ability to converse with and influence high level decision makers


You will be compensated with a competitive base salary of $42k – $45k as well as a generous performance-based bonus and full benefits.
