LinkedIn Now Offers One-Click Endorsements Along with Written Recommendations

If your LinkedIn inbox is overflowing with requests for recommendations, use the new Endorsement feature until you get around to writing those testimonials.

LinkedIn, the social network for professionals recently introduced Endorsements, a lightweight way to recommend members in your network.

With just one click, you can now endorse your connections for a skill or expertise theyā€™ve listed on their profile. If they haven’t gotten around to listing their skills you can add and recommend one.

Similar to the Like feature on Facebook, LinkedIn makes it easy to endorse a connection. Go to the person’s profile, click the down arrow in the profile snapshot or scroll down to the Skills and Expertise section and simply click on the skill you wish to endorse. One click. That’s it!

An email is then sent to the person’s LinkedIn inbox notifying her of your endorsement. The Skills and Expertise section contains the faces of your connections that gave you an endorsement.

Now may be a good time to update the Skills and Expertise section of your profile.

During my test of this feature it worked only intermittently. LinkedIn seems to be working out the bugs, but Endorsements is a great new way to quickly give props to the people you value in your professional network.
