    Wednesday Wisdom: Associating Contacts With Specific Matters

      Supposing you want Judge Smith, a contact you’ve had in your database for several years, to now be associated with a specific matter or matters. Doing so is easy in Rocket Matter, just follow these steps:

      1. Navigate to the desired matter dashboard and click Edit Related Contacts & Data.

      2. Click on Add Another in the lower left hand portion of the screen.

      3. Fill out the form field with Role and Name. Notice that the Name field will autopopulate for you when you begin typing, using our global search technology.

      4. Navigate back to the matter dashboard by clicking on the name of the matter at the top of the screen. From here, on the bottom right corner of the screen will be the Related Contacts section. This section will list all of the contacts that are associated with this matter and give you their roles.

      Associating your contacts with specific matters is an important way to categorize and organize them. It also allows you to optimize Rocket Matter as a conflicts checking tool. There is no limit to the number of contacts and roles you can associate with a given matter. Doing so will definitely help you stay on top of who’s who as you navigate from matter to matter.
