Wednesday Wisdom: Scheduling Future Events with the Date Calculator Feature

by rocketmatter-admin September 13, 2011

Have you ever wanted to schedule something in advance without knowing exactly when that date would fall on the calendar? Suppose you wanted to schedule a lunch meeting with a client for 90 days from today. Maybe you want to create an event for a statute of limitations that will run out 6 months from today, but had no idea what day that would fall on.

Fortunately, Rocket Matter® provides an easy way to do this without having to actually count days on a calendar. Using the Date Calculator feature is quick and easy and will save you the hassle of scrolling through the calendar. To schedule a future event, simply follow these steps:

1. From your user dashboard, click Create Event, on the right hand side, under View Firm Calendar.

2. You are now on your Calendar Invite screen, where you can enter all of the relevant information. You can name the event, enter a specific client or matter, the location of the event and any notes you’d like to keep. Click on Help Me Calculate the Date, which is in blue print, to the right of the date fields on this screen.

3. Enter the appropriate information in the quantity field and select the unit of time in the drop down box beside it. You can choose from days, weeks, months or years. Finally, set the starting or from date. Leave the box “For weekend results, choose next weekday” checked and you will automatically default to the nearest weekday if the event would have fallen on a weekend.

That’s all there is to it. To make this feature even more useful, try logging in from your mobile device on the road or when you’re away from the office. With Rocket Matter®, you’ll always have a quick and easy way to set future events on your calendar. You can even set reminders in minutes, days, weeks or months as a specific event you scheduled approaches, so you’ll never forget something important again.
