App of the Week: MixBit – Shoot Your Own Video Or Remix Shared Clips
These days, it’s all about social media-enabled video capturing and sharing. Twitter got into the act with Vine. Instagram did them one better.
And now, comes MixBit from Chad Hurley and Steve Chen, the co-founders of YouTube. Yes, that YouTube, the number two search engine.
MixBit lets you collaborate with friends, family, and colleagues to create and edit videos – all on your mobile device.
But what sets this video application apart is the community of MixBit-ers who upload their video clips, all of which you’re free to use to remix and create your own unique video.
Finished videos can be up to an hour long. Connect your account to Twitter, Facebook, Google +, or Tumblr to quickly share your videos.
If you’ve yet to find the 6-second Vine or slightly longer Instagram videos useful, check out MixBit.
MixBit is free and available on iOS and Android devices.
